At the recent Midwest legislative conference Dr. David Smith, our Superintendent,Debbie Hartz,EVSC teacher and Sen. Vaneta Becker and I discussed EVSC's EQUITY schools. I was so proud of them. The attendance was outstanding.

Also, the opportunity came to present the economic development initiative the Ohio River Basin Caucus (10 states). If you want more information on that effort, let me know.

Monday I learned what Jobs With Justice is going to do to fight Right to Work "for peanuts" legislation that is likely to raise its ugly head in this next state legislature. Wow what a group!

This past week I attended the last hearing on vote centers. I offered a letter of concerns and I was encouraged by County Clerk Susan Kirk's responses. I still remain committed to push for flexibility in the number of locations for differing elections (primary, Presidential , for ex) and accessibility for our elderly voters and voters who do not have transportation. Disabled voters are protected by the law. I've attached a link to the attached the proposed vote centers and their locations.

Last Thursday evening Kerwin Olson of Citizens Action Coalition (Indianapolis) spoke at United Neighborhood Association of Evansville to ask for signatures to ask the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to come to Evansville and hear our customer complaints. I continue to get concerns from rate payers. The responsibility of the IURC is to balance the interests of the big utility companies with rate payers. We deserve to be heard! On Thursday we collected three sheets of signatures and attached here is the sheet to sign.
